Waterman AHW were appointed as mechanical services consultant to Lihir Gold.
This is one of the world’s largest gold mines and processing facilities on the island of Lihir, 900 kilometres north-east of Port Moresby.
The power plant provides power to residents who live near the mine, site free of charge. The project outcomes included reduced greenhouse gas emissions, reduced power costs, improved reliability of power supply and improved relationships with government and local residents.
Waterman AHW provided mechanical services for the geothermal power plant.
